Project Delta
A field guide to slow internet.
Delta is a zine, a website, and an argument. The argument is that the web was better when it was smaller, slower, and stranger — and that many of the people who still believe this are quietly making the best things on it.
The Guide
Each issue of Delta profiles three or four independent sites: a personal wiki maintained by a retired librarian, a weather page written in PHP since 2004, a guestbook that still gets signatures. We interview the people behind them and photograph their homes. The result is part portrait, part time capsule.
Why Print
A printed zine about the web is a small act of rebellion against the assumption that the web is the only place worth being. It's also a way of saying: some things should not be infinitely updatable. A page is a commitment.
Issue one sold out in three days. Issue two is in the works.
